Bernard Tomic has advanced to the second round of qualifying at Wimbledon overnight.
Tomic, who received a wildcard into the qualifying event from the All England Club, prevailed over the highly fancied world No.180 American Alex Bogomolov Jr. 7-6(5) 7-6(1).
The 16 year old is bidding to reach the main draw of a major for the third time this year having received wildcards into both the Australian Open and French Open.
He will face 29th seed Juan Pablo Brzezicki of Argentina in the second round.
