Chile proves too hot to handle
Bernard is on his way home after the Australian Davis Cup team went down 3-2 to Chile in Antofagasta on Monday.
Tomic fell short of selection in the final team but supported courtside as Chris Guccione, Peter Luczak and Carsten Ball fought valiantly for the green and gold.
Guccione and Ball scored a stunning five-set upset win over Chilean pair Fernando Gonzalez and Nicolas Massu in the doubles rubber on day 2 to keep the pressure on the home side heading into the final day.
But Gonzalez was too strong against Chris Guccione in the reverse singles and secured the tie to ensure Chile would return to the World Group in 2009.
In between practice sessions, Bernard went fishing in Antofagasta and spent time with his teammates.
More pictures from Chile will be available soon.
