Bernard today celebrated his 16th birthday by winning his first ever doubles Futures match at Happy Valley in South Australia.
Tomic partnered with fellow Queenslander Jared Easton to defeat Mark McCook and Matheson Klein 6-2 6-4.
He faces seventh seed Jurek Stasiak in first round singles action tomorrow.
