Tomic’s mixed fortunes

Bernard Tomic and Monika Wejnert have gone down in their first round mixed doubles match at Australian Open 2009.
The wildcard entrants fell to experienced Canadian pair Daniel Nestor and Aleksandra Wozniak 6-3 6-3 on Margaret Court Arena.
The loss marks the end of Tomic’s on-court commitments at his debut Grand Slam after his second round loss in the men’s singles to Gilles Muller on Wednesday.
His next tournament will be the Burnie Men’s International in Tasmania, which begins on February 2.
