Bernard beaten on debut

Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic has suffered a first-round loss in his Wimbledon debut on Monday.
The Queenslander went down 6-3 7-6(8) 6-2 to American Mardy Fish.
At 17 years and eight months, the talented Tomic was the youngest player in the 128-strong men’s draw, but was far from disgraced against the recent Queen’s Club finalist.
The two-time junior grand slam champion conjured a set point in the second-set tiebreaker, but missed his window of opportunity, before bowing out of the championships after one hour and 32 minutes.
The experienced Fish, whose career scalps include six-time All England Club champion Roger Federer, needed 25 aces to keep Tomic at bay.
