Bernard Tomic has fallen to fifth seed David Ferrer in the first round of the ATP Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.
Tomic, who received a wildcard into the event, went down in straight sets to the Spaniard 6-3 6-4.
It was another important step in the teenager’s development as he continues his transition from the junior to senior circuit.
