Tomic locked in tight tussle
Bernard Tomic was in a close contest with American Michael Yani on the opening day of Wimbledon qualifying when rain suspended play late in the day.
The Aussie won the opening set in a tiebreak 7-6(4), but is being kept honest at 4-3 in the second set by the American world No.173.
Waiting for the winner is No.8 seed Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France who easily accounted for local hope Joshua Milton.
Tomic was beaten by Roger-Vasselin in the final round of Wimbledon qualifying last year.
