Tomic looking forward to Fish
Bernard Tomic will make his Wimbledon debut against world No.70 Mardy Fish this week in what will be the pair’s first on-court meeting.
Seventeen-year-old Tomic is the youngest player in the 2010 draw, while Fish, at 28, is one of the more experienced campaigners.
Tomic will enter the event feeling confident after making it to the second round of Queen’s. Unfortunately for the Gold Coast teenager, Fish made it to the Queen’s final and will also come into Wimbledon with a good feel for grass.
Ranked No.252 in the world at present, Tomic made his way to the main draw the hard way – via qualifying where he racked up three straight-sets wins over players who are all currently ranked higher than him.
But a win over Fish in his first main draw Wimbledon match would be an even greater highlight for Tomic.
