Tough draw for Tomic
Bernard Tomic has been drawn to face top seed Marsel Ilhan from Turkey in the first round of the US Open Qualifying event at Flushing Meadows.
The teenager, who last year won the US Open Junior Championships, must topple the world No.108 and win two further matches if he is to make his main draw debut in New York.
Tomic is one of 10 Aussies in the qualifying event including Chris Guccione, Jelena Dokic and Matt Ebden.
The Queenslander, who is currently ranked No.228 in the world, reached the second round of the Australian Open and won through qualifying at Wimbledon earlier this year.
