On a busy day of qualifying at the Medibank International Sydney, Australian wildcard Bernard Tomic won two rounds on Saturday to be within a victory of the main draw.
Tomic didn’t drop a set in beating Igor Kunitsyn, 6-4 6-0, followed by Michael Berrer, 7-6(2) 6-4; he plays Poland’s Lukasz Kubot for a spot in the tournament proper.
