Bernard falls in an epic
Bernard Tomic has gone down in a heart-breaker to Pierre Hugues Herbert of France on Tuesday at the ATP Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.
Despite serving 13 aces during the contest and holding two match points, Tomic fell 6-4 3-6 7-6(7).
It was the Aussie’s first appearance back on court since he withdrew from the US Open due to a hip injury.
Tomic and Herbert battled for almost two hours before the Frenchman advanced to the second round, where he will meet the winner of the match between No.6 seed Joao Sousa and Germany’s Benjamin Becker.
